This decrepit boat sat near the Ballard Bridge in Seattle for many years. It had been converted to a fishing boat from its previous life in China. Early one summer morning rowing by I was taken with the morning (eastern) light hitting the stern of the boat. The optimistic irony of its name seemed prescient to me - and not two weeks after I painted it, it disappeared from the site.
