One of a series of 8 paintings from Gasworks Park, Seattle. A former coal gasification plant, it was an inspired decision to leave the rusting towers, tanks and pipes in place when it became a park. It is a kind of early 20th century Ozymandias -- proud and once mighty, now a site for dog-walking and kite-flying. Does it make us wonder about our modes of energy production?
