Seattle's 1961 Ship Canal Bridge (Interstate 5) traverses the canal between Portage Bay and Lake Union. Its design has a kind of spare grandeur with its feet in the water and its girders in the sky. This was painted from the public access pocket park just west of Ivar's Salmon House.
