Painted in early spring from a patch on the North Cascades highway. It had begun to leaf out, but the undergrowth was still low enough to scramble the bank and thrash my way into the middle of the grove. I liked this one so much I painted another larger version which appeared in the West Coast Paper Annual and the Kenmore Arts Festival.
